Leading North West developer Seddon Homes has just started work on an exclusive gated development of new detached homes off Chorley New Road, Bolton.

Construction has begun on The Laurels as it will be known and plans are in place for a show home to open in May 2011.

Prices will be strictly embargoed until the show home opens but Seddon experts expect they will be in the region of £700-£900,000 due to the quality specification of the properties and the secluded location within an attractive wooded setting off Markland Hill.

Seddon Homes sales and marketing director, Denis Maddock, said: “We will be inviting expressions of interest from potential buyers early in the new year, but prices have yet to be confirmed and will not be announced until the show home is open. We are working towards its unveiling at a launch weekend in June 2011.”

Each of the six substantial detached properties will be built to an extremely high specification, with the finest interior and exterior finishes throughout.

They will all have either five or six bedrooms and feature SieMatic kitchens taking inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright and wet rooms from international design icon Phillip Starck.

An existing property on the site will be extended and refurbished to a high standard design matching that of the new build homes.

The flagship development, among the most exclusive in the Seddon Homes 2011 portfolio, will be security gated to ensure the privacy of residents.

The Laurels is the third by Seddon Homes in recent years located in or around the sought after Chorley New Road area of Bolton. Other recent Seddon developments in the Bolton area include Ashcombe Place, Edgworth, where it built five 5-bedroom houses in specially acquired local natural stone.

Denis added: “The Laurels really will be one of the stars of our 2011 show. This is a top draw location and we anticipate that new homes of this standing will draw a lot of interest from discerning buyer’s looking for that something special often sought but rarely found”
