Spring decor inspiration for your new home

Posted on May 25th, 2017

Is there a best month of spring? There ‘May’ be. See what we did there? Better weather is fast approaching, but May still has some dull days, so, we’ve come up with a few ideas that can help to brighten up your new home and bring the sunshine inside!

1. Go cacti crazy

Succulents are really on trend right now, and these little desert dwellers can help to put a smile on your face, as well as brighten up the room. They bloom best with plenty of sunlight so would be perfect on the kitchen windowsill of your new Seddon home. If you’re looking for some funky inspiration check out @CactusMagazine on Instagram!

 2. Citrus centrepieces

As The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills say, “When life gives you lemons, put nine in a bowl!” The Thornley at Waterside is a fabulous home for hosting dinner parties and entertaining guests, so, if you’re looking for an interesting table centrepiece, why not place some lemons in a glass vase, and top it off with a few handpicked flowers? It’s a cost effective way to brighten up your kitchen and your guests are sure to be impressed!

 3. Add a hint of pink

Blush tones are everywhere right now and these stylish hues can turn your grey sofa from drab to fab in just a few seconds and are easy to swap and change! When paired with grey, gold and even navy, your home will be right on trend, as well as feeling brighter on rainy days. We’ve just released the first phase of homes at our Crofton development, why not start a Pinterest mood board with some interior inspo ideas?

4. Copper and marble combos

This combination of materials is a big trend for 2017. Whether it’s a toothbrush holder, drinks coaster, or even a pan! This trend is a snazzy finishing touch for your new home. OliverBonas.com have a great selection.

5. Quirky quotes

Get out of bed in the morning with a spring in your step! Funny typography quotes are bound to give you giggle and a framed motivational quote above your bed will help you to start your day off right! Desenio.co.uk have a great range, whatever your style.

6. Chic up your shed

If you want to enjoy the outdoors but need to shelter from the rain, why not escape to a chic shed? Paint it up in pastel shades and fill it with fairy lights and plush cushions. You’ll have a serene escape in no time! Alternatively, why not turn it into a man cave? It can be full of tools, a TV, games equipment or just a sofa and beer fridge! Ahhh bliss.

7. Hip herbs

Why not plant some herbs that enjoy the warmth of the indoors? The best ones to grow on your windowsill are basil, coriander, mint, and parsley! You can harvest them all year round, and they’ll fill the room with a wonderful fresh scent, as well as being the perfect garnish to all the dishes you can cook up in your contemporary Seddon Homes kitchen.

So hopefully we’ve inspired you with these jolly and simple ideas to add some sunshine into your home!
