Seddon Homes development in sought after Cheadle bucks economic trend as half the properties are sold before a brick is even laid

A new homes development in much sought after Cheadle, Cheshire, has bucked the economic trend with half the three bedroom properties sold before the first brick was even laid.

New homes developer Seddon Homes is delighted at the response to The Paddock, off Brookfield Road, Cheadle, where it is building 14 family homes.
Seven of the three storey village mews style properties were snapped up within weeks of them being released for sale ‘off plan’ – before building work had even started.

Cheadle, between Stockport and Manchester centres, is a prized residential area due to its mixed array of shops and bistros, leisure amenities, good schools, public transport facilities and close proximity to key road networks. It combines a bustling village vibe with easy access to the big cities.

Seddon Homes sales and marketing director, Denis Maddock, said they anticipated keen interest in the new properties, but the number of early sales has way exceeded even their own expectations.

Interest from potential buyers began as soon as the launch of The Paddock was announced.

Denis said: “To sell half the properties off-plan, even before a show home opened or the development was ready to view is remarkable, especially in light of the recent economic climate. We are delighted.

“It is positive testimony to our belief that there is still ample demand for quality homes in the north west. Providing new homes are offered in the right location and to a good spec, they will sell. The Paddock is a prime example of this.

“We did our research and chose the location carefully after listening to public feedback about the style of properties people want and where they most want to live.”

Denis expects the remaining properties will also be quick to sell over summer, as potential buyers have the chance to benefit from the Government backed New Buy scheme at the development, enabling them to obtain a 90-95 per cent mortgage. This means they only need to find a deposit of five to 10 per cent.

The scheme is being run by the home building industry and mortgage lenders, working in partnership with the Government. It is only available on new build properties from selected builders.

Denis added: “With the New Buy option, affordable pricing and the excellent location of The Paddock, I am confident the remaining properties will be quick to go.
“Cheadle village is full of character and charm, while being just three miles from Stockport town centre and eight miles from the heart of Manchester. Its good communication, transport and road links, with the M60 orbital only minutes away, make it ideal for anyone working locally or in the wider area.”

The properties have a dedicated parking space and some include an integral garage. There is a spacious kitchen and dining area, separate lounge, a main family bathroom, and en-suite master bedroom.

Prices start from £189.950. For more details visit www.seddonhomes.co.uk or call 0845 456 9667.
