Tigers fans enjoy VIP treatment after winning Seddon Homes prize

Posted on September 5th, 2011

Castleford Tigers fans Claire and Daniel Rowlinson were wined and dined by the top rugby league club after winning a VIP match package prize organised by developer Seddon Homes.

The couple, along with their guests Jennifer Woodward and Russell Sullivan, enjoyed a wine reception, three course meal and premier seats at the recent match again Hull, which was also sponsored by Seddon Homes.

They were presented with a framed shirt and rugby ball signed by the first team, as well as enjoying a pre-match summary with star players and Tigers commentator Mick Morgan.

Claire and Daniel scooped the top prize after entering a free prize draw whilst viewing the newly-launched show home at Seddon Homes’ development at Fryston, Castleford.

Called Silkstone, the development offers two, three and four bedroom detached and semi- detached homes.

Daniel, a mechanic and Claire, who have three children Joe 11, Lisa, 4 and Kate, 2, are keen fans of the Tigers, and were delighted to win the tickets.

“We had a fantastic time during our VIP visit, it was a real treat,” said Daniel, who is a regular spectator at Tigers matches. The family lives in Castleford.

“We entered the draw whilst visiting the show home, not thinking for one minute that we might win.

“The development is lovely and we were particularly impressed with the size of the rooms and the extras that come as standard in a Seddon home.”
Silkstone is located in a rural location, close to Fairburn Ings nature reserve.

Visitors to the show home can see for themselves how roomy the properties are. They have thermostatically controlled gas central heating and full insulation to minimise heating costs, helping to keep household bills low.

Kitchens include quality wall cabinets and work surfaces, a stainless steel oven, four-burner gas hob and integrated extractor hood.

Stylish white family bathrooms include chrome fittings, while en suite facilities in master bedrooms feature glazed shower cubicles. Some bedrooms also include fitted sliding mirror wardrobes.

Outside there is a garden tap, turfed front garden and seeded rear garden.

The development is close to good road links and within easy reach of Castleford, Pontefract and Leeds.

Seddon Homes sales and marketing director, Denis Maddock, said: “We were delighted that such avid Tigers’ supporters as Claire and Daniel, who were visiting the Silkstone show home anyway, ended up winning our VIP prize. It was a pleasure to meet them and share in their enjoyment at the match.”

A family-owned firm that traditionally has developed properties to the west of the Pennines, Seddon has recently started developments in Yorkshire. Silkstone is its fourth in the region. Seddon already has operating bases at Normanton and York.

The selection of a mix of property specifications by Seddon for Silkstone offers first time buyers a means of getting onto the property ladder without having to uproot from the region. It is also ideal for local people with growing families seeking to upgrade to more spacious homes.

To help people struggling to get mortgages in the current difficult climate, Seddon has launched “Springboard”, a scheme enabling selected buyers to own the full 100 per cent of their home, while only paying 85 per cent of the market price.

Of the remainder, 15 per cent is financed by an interest free 10-year loan from Seddon and by a reduced five per cent contract deposit.

Prices at Silkstone start from £168,750. For details call 01977 512825 or visit www. seddonhomes.co.uk.
