Seddon Homes donates to community Gardens Association

Posted on January 25th, 2018

Seddon Homes has firmly planted its roots in the community by donating £500 to the Alsager Gardens Association!

The Alsager Gardens Association is a non-profit membership of dedicated gardeners based in the leafy market town of Alsager where members can rent allotments available in sizes to suit the plot holders needs. The Association are currently introducing a number of accessible plots with raised beds and Seddon Homes are delighted to be able to support this worthy cause!

Sales advisor from Seddon Homes’ Crofton development, Louise Holmes, presented the cheque for £500 to Pauline Hubbard from the Association.

“We are extremely grateful to Seddon Homes for this donation,” commented Pauline.

“The money will be used to create accessible raised beds on the Cedar Avenue allotment site initially, but we hope to introduce these across all four sites by the end of 2019.  Seddon Homes’ donation will go some way towards paying for sleepers, hardcore and paving so that members who struggle to plant into the ground will still be able to grow their own fruit, vegetables and flowers themselves,” Pauline continued.

“I was really interested in hearing about the plans for the allotments in the area and where our donation would be used, especially as I am a keen gardener myself,” commented Louise.

Denis Maddock, sales and marketing director for Seddon Homes continued,

Our latest development on Hassall Road in Alsager swiftly follows the sell-out Limeacre site next door and we are delighted to continue to support the local community by donating to the Gardens Association.  We think very carefully about the landscaping of our developments and the great outdoors is always something we strive to maximise around our chosen areas for our developments.”

“We think the Alsager Gardens Association does a fantastic job by encouraging residents of such a beautiful town to get out and about and enjoy the fresh air whilst also growing their own tremendous vegetables,” Denis concluded.
