Malpas man wins top prize after praising village development
Posted on October 6th, 2011A human resources manager from Malpas won a state-of-the-art TV after singing the praises of a housing development that rejuvenated a key site in the village.
Craig Hughes, of Mercer Close, entered the prize draw to win the 50-inch widescreen HD plasma TV while looking around St George’s Rise.
The draw was open to anyone who viewed the show home at the striking eight-property development during the summer months. It was organised by Seddon Homes, the leading Cheshire-based housing developer behind St George’s Rise.
Entrants had to describe in no more than 30 words what impressed them most about the show homes. Names were then entered into a prize draw, with the winner being selected at random.
Craig, 43, wrote: “The show home and the overall development paints a picture of country living with a modern feel.” Speaking afterwards, Craig said: “I’m really pleased to have won — the only problem I have now is deciding where to put the TV! “I was genuinely impressed by St George’s Rise. A lot of thought has clearly been given to making sure the architectural style fits in with the rest of Malpas.”
The former brownfield site on which St George’s Rise sits has been remediated and validated by Cheshire West & Chester Council’s environmental department, along with the National House Building Council (NHBC). The NHBC has provided its renowned and trusted warranty on all the homes built at St George’s Rise.
Each home within the development has a garage and front and rear turfed gardens. Inside, quality SieMatic kitchens feature Bosch appliances and a host of time-saving features.
Denis Maddock, sales and marketing director at Seddon Homes, said: “With five-bedroom detached houses from £299,950, the homes represent real value for money in a changing market. “That dream move before Christmas is still a realistic proposition for potential buyers, especially given that part exchange is a viable option.”
Prices at St George’s Rise start at £169,950 and the stunning show home is open daily Friday — Monday, from 10am to 5pm for relaxed viewing.
