Featured house type – How to incorporate the coolest interior trends into the Mearley

Posted on January 31st, 2018

Our Southbeck development is located in the small village of Salterforth, in the quaint Barnoldswick countryside. We have a range of different house types on offer, with something to suit everyone!

This week our featured house type is the 4 bedroom Mearley. This home exudes style and makes a perfect family home.  The detached Mearley could be more affordable than you think, why not consider using Help to Buy?

The classic stone built exterior compliments local architecture and is contrasted by the contemporary, light and airy interior. The high-quality kitchen is complete with floor and wall cabinets, soft close drawers and doors, laminate worktops, integrated Bosch appliances and ceramic flooring all included as standard. Wow!

Now, a home this fabulous deserves to be decked out with some of the coolest 2018 interior trends! We’ve picked out some of the best, take a look below.

  1. Tropical prints

This was a big trend last year but has evolved for 2018, to focus on lush greens, palm prints and jungle animals! This trend is really versatile and can be introduced into every room; whether you want to go all out, or just add a touch here and there, it’s up to you! We love these dining plates from Dunelm which are sure to be a talking point when you host your summer barbeque!

  1. Gold accents

As you can probably see from above, gold accents are another huge trend for this year. This is a really chic way of adding a trend into your home and looks understated and stylish.  A great way to introduce this trend is through lamps, mirrors, side tables, and even candles.

This table lamp from Wayfair is simple and will look fabulous for years to come.

  1. Dark woods

Thanks to the Scandi trend, pale woods have been hugely popular. However, 2018 is all about glamorous dark woods. Slim handles and legs keep this trend modern. Our particular favourite is this walnut side table from Habitat.

  1. Foliage

There are many benefits of keeping plants indoors, some can even improve your quality of sleep! They look really stylish placed on shelves and you can mix and match pots to fit in with your décor. Just make sure they get plenty of sunlight! Ikea have a wide range that starts from just £1!

  1. Indigo blue

Last but not least, Indigo blue is a big trend for 2018. This is a really easy one to follow; you can add dashes of colour in bedding, cushions, vases and even the plant pots mentioned above. It looks really chic and fresh when combined with white. These pillow cases from Zara Home have a luxe hotel feel, and you’re sure to have a restful night’s sleep on these!
