Seddon Homes’ Ultimate Housewarming Party
Posted on September 16th, 2024You’re Cordially Invited to Our Autumn Housewarming Celebration
Everybody loves a party and moving house is the perfect opportunity to gather family and friends to show off an amazing new space. That’s why Seddon Homes would like to invite aspiring new homeowners to visit two special upcoming celebrations. We’re throwing a party at The Oaks development in Keele on Saturday 28th September, and our Roman Heights site in Poulton-le-Fylde on Saturday 5th October, from 10am to 5pm. These exclusive housewarming events are the perfect chance to check out the local area and experience first-hand our beautiful 2, 3 and 4 bedroom new builds.
Our friendly, expert team will be on hand to ply you with nibbles, pour you a glass of fizz and answer any questions about choosing, financing and buying a new home. We hope our event is the first step on the journey towards your own housewarming party. Check our guide on making the most of your future housewarming and flaunting the stunning signature features and space of a Seddon Homes abode.
Go with the flow
Obviously, the most important elements of a party are the people. If you are surrounded by good company and a welcoming atmosphere, you can’t go far wrong. That said, a good layout can impact a party’s energy and Seddon Homes’ signature open-plan designs and expansive bi-fold doors make a perfect backdrop for a fun gathering.
An open floor plan with easy flow promotes a sense of connection and encourages mingling, while smaller, cosy spaces can create a more intimate feel. Use your open plan layout to create a choice of seating areas where guests can relax and chat.
Bi-fold doors are another great party-friendly feature. Their magic lies in their ability to blur the lines between your home and garden. This is perfect for entertaining, as it allows guests to move freely between indoors and outdoors and also helps hosts accommodate any changes in the weather. Set up a barbecue station on the patio and let guests enjoy the extended living space your bi-fold doors create. Why not string up some fairy lights as an extra stylish touch?
As a side note, once the festivities begin, you’ll really appreciate having a downstairs WC – a standard feature of a Seddon Homes new build. You can avoid guests traipsing up and downstairs, plus it’s convenient for anyone who might have difficulty navigating stairs, especially if they’ve been enjoying a beverage or two!
That’s Entertainment
Music is a must for getting a party into full swing, create a playlist of your favourite tunes to play softly in the background (or pump up the volume to get everyone moving and grooving). Don’t forget to invite your new neighbours too! Also, take loads of photographs; they will be fun to look back at over the years as you fondly recall the first of many great gatherings in your home. If you want to make it a night to remember you can add a few extra flourishes:
- If you’ve got it flaunt it: A housewarming party is the chance to show off your new Seddon Homes abode. Your home is the star of the show, so make sure it’s presentable but don’t stress over perfection. We all love property TV programmes and guests will be delighted to get an exclusive “through the keyhole” tour of your new digs.
- Game on!: Parties are all about fun and connection, and games can be a great way for people who don’t know each other to break the ice and start conversations. They can spark friendly competition, create shared memories, and provide a lighthearted activity for people who might not be comfortable just standing around chatting. Designed with open and spacious layouts in mind, our homes accommodate such activities perfectly.
- Theme it up: While not essential, choosing a theme can add a touch of fun to your party. A theme provides a framework for decorations, food, drinks, and even activities. There are endless theme possibilities, from classic decades like the Roaring 20s to fictional worlds or movie genres.
Foodie Fun
A great housewarming party needs delicious food and refreshing drinks. Since you’re likely still settling into your new home, consider easy-to-prep
are and serve options.
- Buffet-Style Dining: Take advantage of an open-plan layout by setting up buffet stations on your counters. Arrange a selection of appetisers, finger foods, and small plates on a central table where guests can graze. Think charcuterie boards, fresh salads, and gourmet sliders.
- Outdoor Barbecue: Extend the party outdoors with a barbecue. Set up a grill on the patio and offer a variety of grilled meats, vegetables, and seafood. This not only makes for a delicious meal but also keeps the party atmosphere relaxed and fun.
- Signature Cocktails and Beverages: Impress your guests with a selection of signature cocktails. Create a drink station with a variety of mixers, spirits, and garnishes so guests can mix their own drinks. Don’t forget non-alcoholic options.
Most importantly, relax and enjoy your party! Your new home is a place to connect with loved ones, and a housewarming party is the perfect opportunity to do just that.
